Chase Freedom credit cards offer collision damage waiver to cardmembers. Collison damage waiver is secondary insurance meaning it only activates after your primary form of insurance pays up to the limits of its coverage. The most common primary form of insurance is your personal car insurance.
Primary insurance pays for physical damage, towing charges, loss-of-use fees and other related expenses. Once the primary insurer pays up to the coverage limit, the secondary insurance kicks in to cover the remaining costs eligible for coverage.
If you do not have personal automobile insurance or any other insurance, or you are renting outside of your country of residence, this benefit may reimburse you for covered theft, damage or administrative and loss-of-use charges imposed by the rental company. Additionally, this benefit may reimburse you for reasonable towing charges that occur while you are responsible for the vehicle.

The maximum coverage allowed is up to the actual cash value of the rental car. Chase Freedom rental car insurance covers damage, theft, valid loss-of-use charges incurred by the rental agency, administrative fees and reasonable towing costs.

To file a claim, call the Benefit Administrator at (888) 320-9656 (U.S.). You can also file online at eclaimsline.com. It is recommend to make your claim as soon as possible but no later than 60 days from the date when theft or damage occurred. Cardmembers should retain a copy of the rental car agreement, accident report, repair estimates, photographs and police report (if applicable).
